2014 review : I had an OmniHeat coat last winter during the polar vortex and it kept me absolutely perfectly warm, so this year I bought one of these omniheat coats for my 3 yr old daughter. The stitching and quality are absolutely perfect, just what I would expect from Columbia. We call this the "Frozen Elsa Blue" coat lol (if you have a daughter you probably know what I mean). The added bonus is she can fit into her carseat harness straps safely because this coat is very warm without any bulkyness.UPDATED REVIEW 2015 : I bought this coat for my daughter again this year because we loved it so much last year! It is still the same high quality and she is instantly warm when she zips it up. I am also attaching the size chart from the tag in case it helps anyone in the future. (For what it's worth, the boy's version of this coat for sale on Amazon has the wrong size chart). My 6 year old (tall, size ~6 on top) loves this jacket and I think we may get a couple of seasons wear out of it. It seems to work well in all kinds of wintry environments (cold and moderate winter days, skiing) with only a long sleeved or T shirt underneath and my kiddo thinks the pockets are really warm and cozy. I was concerned about the jacket when we first got it as it's light as a feather and looks like it could tear easily, but it's held up to lots of activity (including the occasional scrape against concrete) over the past couple of months of daily wear. My only complaint is that the zipper was difficult to operate for the first couple of weeks. My kiddo has been zipping her own jackets for at least 2 years so this was frustrating, but she liked the jacket enough to persevere and she hasn't needed help with the zipper for several weeks now.Cute jacket that my toddler loves BUT the body is shorter than you'd expect. It's enough to know we won't be able to reuse the jacket next year if she grows any taller and of course she will so it's a one season jacket unless you have a tiny little one with long arms... The material inside the sleeves is great to help keep gloves in place. This jacket has been great for my daughter. I bought her an xs and she is 6 and is 50% in height and weight. She wears it almost daily and it has served its purpose of keeping her warm in the cold mornings where we live. It is light weight and has held up for the last two months. This won't keep a child warm in freezing temperatures but is great in the upper 30's and 40's and has worked well in the rain too.Wanted to love this jacket for my 10 yr old. The price was great, so I actually ordered it for next winter to replace her Columbia from this year that she's on the verge of growing out of. Keep in mine, my 10 yr old is always cold, so she doesn't mind a heavier feel. This jacket is EXTREMELY light and I can't imagine even with the "omni Heat" that it will keep her warm with our 15 degree winters. So off it went, back to seller.I bought my daughter a size bigger than she usually wears. Bought this for the snow, she wore layers under and she loved it cause it's very light. She wears it when it rains and it keeps her warm even with just a short sleeve shirt under. This was choosed by my beautifull daugther, she was happy to recive the box from amazon and like it a lot actually said " i think will be good for winter right now im burning in" when she whear it at Medellin. We love the size and the quality, pokets for example so warm on fleeze.Best choice.A very warm and thin jacket. Perfect for my 13 year old daughter who needs a warm coat without the bulk so it will fit in her locker. We live in MN. I want one!! =)
